Barbie Twilight Bella Doll

Barbie Twilight Bella DollThe Barbie Twilight Bella doll is based on the character Bella Swan from the massively successful Twilight series of books that are currently being turned into 4 films. As the name suggests, the doll is based on the popular Barbie doll, made by Mattel Toys. The doll is part of a set, which includes the Edward Cullen doll. Both dolls are officially licensed products to Summit Entertainment, the producers of the Twilight films.

The Bella Barbie doll was only released in early November 2009 to coincide with the release of the latest Twilight film, New Moon. The doll is sure to be a best seller over Christmas for fans of the movies, anxious to act out their own Bella and Edward romance. Although they are toys and people are encouraged to play with them, they are also seen as an ideal item to collect. The Bella doll comes under the Pink Label range of dolls. This label is designed to tell doll collectors how many dolls will be produced and other factors relating to doll collecting.

The Barbie Twilight Bella doll is a replica of the character in the movie. To this extent she has similar features to the character and wears a similar outfit. Other than that, she has the same body as a normal Barbie doll. This means that her legs are bendable. Her head can swivel from side to side. She stands around 12 inches in height.

In terms of looking like Bella the character in the movie, she has long light brown hair. Her eyes are a hazel green color that resembles those of the character. This is about the only factors that could make her stand out as being Bella. If you were to take her clothes off, she would probably look like a normal Barbie doll. Her clothing is based on the outfits that the character wore most often in the movie. This includes blue/white sneakers. Mottled blue jeans and a pale gray/blue jacket. The jacket has a zipper front and four pockets on the front. The clothing has labels that identify them as Summit Entertainment inspired clothing. This gives it some exclusivity and authenticity that collectors will cherish.

The Doll comes in pink packaging, with a plain plastic front piece so that the doll can be scrutinized  without having to remove it from the box.

Background On Bella Swan

Bella Swan is 17 at the start of the Twilight series. She has recently moved away from her mother to be with her father. He lives in Forks, Washington so she arrives in a small, close knit town town as a virtual stranger. This makes her slightly insecure and vulnerable to the new influences that she experiences.

One of these influences is Edward Cullen. She becomes deeply infatuated with him. And the relationship develops over the course of the first book. The second and third books continue to deal with the relationship between Bella and Edward. This is set against the apparent incompatibility of the relationship as Bella is human and Edward is a vampire.

Once Bella discovers that Edward is a vampire and gets to know him and his family, she wants to become a vampire too. Edward realizes the danger that she places herself in by being a human around vampires all the time. He also balks from her determination to become a vampire as he is only too aware of the difficulties of  life as a vampire.

Bella Swan is portrayed by Kirsten Stewart in the Twilight movies.

OK I admit I’m a Twilight fan, I saw New Moon last week and was a tiny bit disappointed, just felt like there wasn’t enough action in the story, I really got the impression it was gonna be action packed. But still loved it, and I reckon Bella’s hot, my wife loves Edward and would leave me for him, but that’s not gonna happen (hopefully LOL) Great site Thanks

  • Nice to note that dolls that have made it into the Dysney Hall of fame are getting some serious mention.

Despite the tough competition in this market, Barbie sure seems to have found her niche among young girls world over, and it doesn’t hurt too to note that Ms Barbie comes with many clothing accessories…

Aah, women of the new millenium, what next?

Barbie continues to dominate the doll market which I must say I am delighted with. Barbie is a true icon of the modern era and it is testimony to the makers of the doll that they have been able to compete in the current times. There are so many companies fighting over themselves to find the next must have toy but time and time again Barbie comes through.
